Flat Earth Brewing's Jeff Williamson has just released Winter Warlock Golden Barley-wine, his homage to the original barley wine, Bass No. 1 (and apparently also to 1970's holiday TV.)

Weighing in at just over 9% ABV,  it is tremendously fruity tasting ale (passion fruit, pinneaple) with copious hop flavor. The lasting bitterness from the Fuggle hops helped to balance out the semi-sweet malt. True to its name, it appears a slightly hazy golden yellow color; lighter colored than most barley wines I've encountered.

A limited number of kegs have already left the building.  Bottles will be on store shelves soon!
